OREANDA-NEWS. The new generation slag treatment technology and device for Rolling-crush of Converter Slag, which was independently developed by MCC Group Central Research Institute of Building & Construction (CRIBC) for Henan Jiyuan Iron & Steel (Group) Co., Ltd. successfully passed through scientific and technological achievements appraisal on October 9, 2013. The appraisal was organized by China Iron and Steel Association, and undertaken by the expert group which consisted of Yin Ruiyu, Academician from Chinese Academy of Engineering, and the other authoritative experts from the Ministry of Environment Protection, institutions of higher education and steel works.

According to the appraisal result, this new technology is worldwide advanced for high efficiency, mechanization and clean environment under slag treatment operation. As the R&D work of the complete equipment and technical package, as well as the application on the first project, has been successfully finished, this technology is ready for promotion and application.

The research and development work of this technology was completed by CRIBC in the end of 2010, basing upon the previous foundation of the three generations of such technologies, as well as the experimental simulation, on-site pilot plant test and the industrial test. It has been proved to be stable for operation since it was successfully applied for the project of Henan Jiyuan Iron & Steel (Group) Co., Ltd. in 2012, with an annual slag processing capability of 600,000 tons.

Comparing with the other technologies of such types, it is featured by several breakthroughs in terms of short processing time, high processing efficiency, clean productive process, low energy consumption and low operation costs. It is well complied with the relevant standards of the construction materials industry, providing sufficient conditions for waste heat recovery and utilization and enjoying great value for marketing and promising market prospective. At present, a production line of this technology has been built up in Zhuhai, with an annual slag treatment capability of 600,000 tons.
