OREANDA-NEWS. Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Prysyazhniuk and Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Mykola Fiodorov held in Moscow the 11-th sitting of subcommission on agroindustrial complex of the Committee on economic cooperation of Russian-Ukrainian interstate commission. The parties discussed a series of actual issues of bilateral cooperation.

"Ukraine and Russia continue partnership in agrarian sector in the frames of preliminary achieved agreements. In particular, today we have discussed cooperation in grain, veterinary and phytosanitary areas, trade in foodstuffs. With this aim we have considered ways of increase of mutual trade in the products and enlargement of assortment," Mykola Prysyazhniuk emphasized on the results of the 11-th sitting of the subcommission on agroindustrial complex of the Committee on economic cooperation of Russian-Ukrainian interstate commission in Moscow.

The Minister stressed that among the top priority issues of bipartite cooperation remained returning of Ukrainian confectionery to the market of Russia.

"We have discussed a duty issue concerning export to Russia of Ukrainian sugar, caramel and also returning to the Russian market of the Roshen confectionery company. Notably, we asked the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation to address with this question to the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and facilitate solving it. We realize that it is not within responsibility of the Ministry. However, the leaders assured we could count on their support in solving of this question," Mykola Prysyazhniuk underlined.

Moreover, he added during the meeting there had been discussed issues of development of cooperation in the areas of cattle breeding, seed growing, education and science, in exhibition activity.

Apart from that, the Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine emphasized that this year's amounts of export of agrarian production to Russian remained considerable. Overall for 8 months Ukraine has exported to Russia the agricultural products to the tune of USD 1.3 bln.

In turn, the Russian party stressed on importance to enlarge cooperation with Ukraine in agrarian sector.

In the result of the meeting the parties coordinated principal cooperation lines which are to be included for considering during a sitting of the Committee on economic cooperation of Russian-Ukrainian interstate commission.
