OREANDA-NEWS. Mazda Motor Corporation announces Mazda Southern Africa (Pty.) Ltd. is showcasing its latest product lineup including three new-generation vehicles at the 2013 Johannesburg International Motor Show. Additions to the CX-5 compact crossover powertrain lineup as well as the introduction of the Mazda6 flagship sedan and all-new Mazda3 compact sedan and hatchback were announced. The vehicles will go on sale in 2014 by Mazda Southern Africa, which will manage the sales and distribution of Mazda vehicles throughout the country.

"This is a very exciting time for Mazda. We are introducing a new generation of vehicles sporting some of the most innovative technologies in the automotive world today", said Yuji Nakamine, Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer of Mazda Motor Corporation.

In 2011 Mazda began introducing a new-generation of its vehicle lineup. Incorporating a suite of innovations to the vehicle's core systems, called SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY as well as a new design language known as KODO-Soul of Motion, Mazda's new vehicles deliver exceptional driving dynamics, outstanding fuel economy and evocative styling.

"With a finely tuned, dedicated and profitable dealer network offering competitively priced products, especially our new generation vehicles equipped with SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY, we aim to expand our business and further strengthen the Mazda brand in South Africa", said David Hughes, Managing Director of Mazda Southern Africa.

First introduced in South Africa in 2012 with a 2.0-litre petrol engine, next year the CX-5 compact crossover will receive an injection of power thanks to the addition of two additional engines; a 2.5-litre petrol as well as a 2.2-litre twin-turbo diesel.

The Mazda6 flagship sedan was launched in selected markets throughout 2012. It is the most technologically advanced vehicle Mazda has ever built. In addition to outstanding driving dynamics, fuel efficiency and advanced safety features, the Mazda6 is the first vehicle to use a capacitor-based brake energy regeneration system to power the vehicle's electrical components.

The Mazda3 compact sedan and hatchback is currently being introduced in North America, Europe and Japan. While incorporating SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY and KODO design, the new Mazda3 is the first vehicle to adopt the company's new human-machine interface concept. Designed to minimize driver distraction the new Mazda3 is available with "Active Driving" heads-up display, intuitive rotary commander control unit and 7-inch display screen.
