Tata Steel Released Q2 & H1 FY'14 Key Production & Sales Figure
OREANDA-NEWS. Tata Steel registered Hot Metal production of 2.46 million tonnes in Q2 (up by 19% y-o-y) and 4.93 million tonnes in H1 (up by 20% y-o-y). Crude steel production was 2.29 million tonnes in Q2 (up by 19% y-o-y) and 4.51 million tonnes in H1 (up by 21% y-o-y). Saleable Steel production increased by 18% y-o-y in Q2 (to 2.2 million tonnes) and by 21% y-o-y in H1 (to 4.35 million tons). Deliveries were 2.03 million tonnes in Q2 (up by 18% y-o-y) and 4.04 million tonnes in H1 (up by 22% y-o-y).

Major Highlights
Merchant Mill achieved its best half yearly production at 0.199 million tonnes (Previous best 0.194 million tonnes in H1 FY'13).
New Bar Mill achieved its best ever quarterly production of 0.225 million tonnes (Previous best 0.222 million tonnes in Q1 FY'14), and best half yearly production at 0.447 million tonnes (Previous best 0.411 million tonnes in H2 FY'13).
Best half yearly production of Saleable Steel in Flat Products at 2.81 million tonnes in H1 (Previous best 2.72 million tonnes in H2 FY'13).
Performance of the recently commissioned units under the 3 MTPA expansion -
Pellet Plant has produced more than 2 million tonnes of pellet in H1.
I Blast Furnace surpassed the H1 target producing 1.55 million tonnes of Hot Metal.
LD#3 & TSCR have touched the 1 million tonne production level in H1.
Flat Product sale is best ever in H1 at 2.66 million tonnes (Prev. best 2.59 million tonnes in H2 FY'13).
