OREANDA-NEWS. "Sepam" and "BMRZ" microprocessor-based protection of power transformers and outgoing connections is being successfully introduced in the course of major repairs of the substations in the Oil and Gas Production Divisions of the Company.

BMRZ type units of microprocessor relay protection are designed to perform the functions of relay protection, automation, control and alarm connections with voltage from 0.4 to 110 kV.

BMRZ units provide for execution of all protection and automation functions in case of various failures of 0.4 to 110 kV connections.

In addition to the core functions of protection and automation BMRZ units provide for broad service capabilities facilitating the work of the maintenance personnel.

The introduction of the microprocessor-based protection during the JSC TATNEFT's substations overhaul is carried out by professionals of "Tatneft-Energoservice" Management Company.

Usage of microprocessor devices with modular architecture at the substations of the Company along with modern surface mount technologies ensure high reliability, greater computing power and high-speed response, as well as high precision measurements of electrical parameters and time intervals, which makes it possible to reduce the number of selectivity intervals and increase the terminal sensitivity.

The algorithms of protection and automation functions implemented in the device, as well as the connecting diagrams have been developed in compliance with the requirements of the national system of relay protection and automation in collaboration with representatives of energy systems and design institutes, which provides for compatibility with equipment based on different hardware components and facilitates the introduction of new equipment by designers and operations staff.

Furthermore, application of devices to provides for ensuring implementation of the unique selective single phase to earth fault protection of 6 (10) kV distribution networks.
