OREANDA-NEWS. In 2012, Anhui's volume of trade with Russia amounted to 690 million US dollars, ranking Russia the eleventh trade partner and the ninth largest export market of Anhui. The accumulated investment of Russia in Anhui reached 4.216 million US dollars and that of Anhui in Russia 3.93 million US dollars. The number of Russian visitors to Anhui exceeded 30 thousand, making Russia the twelfth largest sources of foreign visitors to Anhui. Anhui and Russia cooperated with each other to establish 88 scientific and technological projects, and exchanged over 300 visiting scholars, released on Opportunities in Investment and Trade with Russia Seminar held in Hefei.

Source from Anhui Council for the Promotion of International Trade said that it is a good time to cooperate with Russia and it is promising. In January, the State approved the cooperation among six provinces or municipalities along the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River (Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Chongqing and Sichuan) and regions along the Volga River of Russia. In May, representatives from upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River and regions along the Volga River of Russia met in Wuhan to launch mutual cooperation.
