OREANDA-NEWS. An extended Meeting of the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry Committee for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Commonwealth of Independent States Economic Integration on the topic "Russia and Ukraine inter-regional cooperation status and outlook" took place in Rostov-on-Don within the framework of the XIII World Business Don Forum.

The event was sponsored by the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, Ukraine and the Rostov oblast. One of the Forum's central happenings is the Don Venture Fair presenting innovational technologies and developments generated by residents of industrial and tech parks and industry clusters located at the territories of municipal entities.

During its work the Committee's session reviewed such issues as processes of creation of favorable environment for trade and economic interaction between Russia and Ukraine, expansion of economic cooperation, establishment of direct ties and dialog between business and finance circles.

The key objective of the event was optimization of inter-regional cooperation of Russia and Ukraine. Special focus was made on the discussion of problems and outlook of development of business in the south of Russia including the Rostov oblast.

The Meeting heard the reports of the RF CCI President S.N. Katyrin, the Ukraine CCI President G.D. Chizhykov, Chair of the SCO and CIS Economic Integration Committee V. Yu. Salamatov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine in the Russian Federation V. Yu. Yelchenko and representatives of the federal government authorities and the Commonwealth integration bodies.
