Board of Civil Engines Division Reviewed Production Ramp-Up Plans
OREANDA-NEWS. The issues related to the sustainability of the United Engine Corporation's Civil Engines Division (CED) and building of a balanced product portfolio of civil and transport aviation engines were treated during a regular meeting of the CED board of directors.
The September meeting took place in Moscow under the chairmanship of Ilya Fedorov, NPO Saturn chief executive officer, head of the CED with the participation of Sergey Popov, PMZ CEO and deputy chairman of the CED, as well as other board members.
The members of the CED board revised the composition of the civil and transport aviation engine programs which are directly managed by the CED. A decision was made to elaborate action plans aimed at decreasing the risks impacting the economic performance of the D-30KU/KP, SaM146 and PS-90A programs, devise a customer support system for the PS-90A engine as well as to improve the main application performance of the Division's engines being guided by the customers' expectations. During the session, the parties agreed to expand the list of the most beneficial collaboration programs focused on cross-deliveries of components and services between the companies in the Civil Engines Division.
The participants of the meeting also reviewed the need of integrating the research and development-related activities within the CED. It was decided to expand the scope of internal collaboration dedicated to the PD-14 engine and industrial gas turbines programs.

OBORONPROM United Industrial Corporation (OJSC) is a multi-field machine-building group created in 2002. It is part of Rostec. The main fields of activity are helicopter building (the Russian Helicopters holding), engine building (the UEC holding) and other assets.
