Mitsubishi’s New Car Sales Begin in Myanmar
OREANDA-NEWS. Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) announced the commencement of sales of its vehicles in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar (Myanmar).
MMC established a service shop in Yangon in May 2013, and began after-sales service to used MMC-brand vehicles already in the market. MMC now enters the new car market in Myanmar through a local company with the support of Mitsubishi Corporation.
With the Myanmar government's recent revision of taxes on pickup trucks and loosening of restrictions on imports, MMC will import the Thai-made L200 pickup truck. Moving forward, while expanding its new car lineup in parallel with successively establishing sales outlets and expanding after-sales network, MMC will cement its brand in Myanmar's automobile market, where rapid growth is expected.
MMC made the concentration of business resources in emerging markets a major strategic pillar of its JUMP 2013 mid-term business plan which the company announced in January of 2011. MMC will work to strengthen its operations in the Myanmar market which holds promise of future growth.
