Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol Reduces Production Price
OREANDA-NEWS. A project on effective usage of secondary raw materials for the production of granulated aluminum in the open-hearth production technology has been successfully developed and introduced at PJSC “Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol”. Annual saving rate will make up to 500 thousand ghrivnas.
The workers of the shop were initiators of the proposition. During open-hearth practice ferroalloys and some other pure metals including granulated aluminum are used as reducers and alloy additives. Earlier open-hearth workers used only secondary aluminum ingots for its production and that was the reason of high cost-price of granulated aluminum.
A group of specialists proposed to use aluminum scrap in technological process which is formed in many subdivisions of the enterprise. As of today 25-30% per cent of aluminum scrap is necessary for one heat. As a result summarizing the results of the second quarter the saving rate made up 130 thousand ghrivnas.
“Reducing production price at the expense of using secondary resources - is one of the key factors that promote the increase in competitiveness and provide the advancement of metal production at the production market. We involve inner resources and support initiatives of the plant workers intended for the overall result in increasing the production efficiency” - noted the general manager of PJSC “Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol” Uriy Zinchenko
