Ukraine, Belarus to Enhance Industrial Cooperation
OREANDA-NEWS. October 11, 2013. Industrial cooperation of Ukraine with Belarus in the fields of engineering, instrumentation, transportation, energy, transport infrastructure, etc. will give more ‘points of growth’ of national economies as a whole. This was started by Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on October 9, describing the results of the official visit to the Republic of Belarus.
“In a frank and friendly discussion, we’ve contemplated almost all aspects of bilateral relations, defined compromise solutions to the problems that exist and most importantly defined where we can intensify cooperation. Of course, we discussed and how to interact in the context of the functioning of the Customs Union and the Association of Ukraine and the European Union,” Mykola Azarov said.
Prime Minister stressed that that a substantial discussion with the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, and talks with the Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich were marked by the highest level of trust and understanding. The leadership of Belarus is on the position of deepening the Belarusian-Ukrainian cooperation and cooperation between Ukraine and the Common Eurasian economic space.
“President Mr. Lukashenko clearly stated that he saw no problem in the EU-Ukraine Association. Belarus respects and takes our choice. Moreover, Belarus sees not obstacle, but new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation,” Mykola Azarov noted.
Mykola Azarov considers the task of Alexander Lukashenko to the Belarusian government is to open additional opportunities and find compromises in cooperation between Ukraine and Belarus “a powerful impetus to a new quality of our relationships”.
The partnership position of Belarusian leadership based on a friendly and pragmatic consideration of interests of both our countries was embodied in the agreements signed during the visit. The main document signed in Minsk is the Roadmap for the development of bilateral cooperation for 2013-2015, which defines ways of deepening industrial cooperation. Primarily in agricultural engineering.
“Industrial cooperation will combine the best scientific and technological achievements of both our parties and enhance the competitiveness of products that are manufactured within this cooperation, Prime Minister notes. - I’m convinced that industrial cooperation with Belarus in engineering, instrumentation, transportation, energy, cross-border infrastructure, etc. will give more ‘points of growth’ of national economies as a whole.”
There were also signed: the Intergovernmental Agreement on Cooperation in the field of quarantine and plant protection, the Interagency Cooperation Program in the field of physical culture and sports, interagency protocols on customs regulations, and interagency agreement on cooperation in the field of training staff for nuclear power.
