Aleksey Galakhov, Corporate Business Deputy Director General and Member of Management Board of Ingosstrakh Insurance Company became Deputy Chairman of Russian Nuclear Insurance Pool (RNIP) Supervisory Board. He was elected unanimously to the post by the ordinary meeting of the Board at the end of September 2013.

Commenting on the nuclear risk reinsurance situation, Aleksey Galakhov noted that by the end of 2009 Russian nuclear risks had not been accepted by the West. 'This was the decision of International Pooling System based on the assumption that level of nuclear, radiation and fire safety of Russian power units was very low. To solve this problem, the first international insurance inspection was arranged at the end of 2009. The inspection resulted in inception of cooperation with international nuclear pools for reinsurance of Russian nuclear risks. Presently, this cooperation has moved to a new level. RNIP inspectors take an active part in international insurance inspections (III) of foreign nuclear facilities. Over the past year and a half, RNIP inspectors participated in III in China, Taiwan, Bulgaria, Spain, Hungary, Ukraine, South Korea, and Great Britain. Notably, since September 1, 2013 three international inspectors certified to take part in III both in Russian and foreign facilities have been included into RNIP,' Aleksey Galakhov said.

Aleksey Vladimirovich Galakhov was born on September 20, 1970 in Moscow. In 1996 he graduated from Moscow State Law Academy with a diploma in jurisprudence. In the same year, he took a two-month training at SWISS RE subdivision in Switzerland. Over 20 years, Aleksey Galakhov has been working in insurance and gained a rich professional expertise and managerial experience. Embarking on his insurance carrier in 1991 with Ingosstrakh Insurance Company, Aleksey Galakhov worked up his way from an economist to head of insurance management company fire and attendant risks liability insurance department over the following 9 years. In 2000 - 2002, Aleksey worked as the First Deputy Director General of Ingosstrakh-Russia Insurance Joint-Stock Company. In 2002 - 2003, he held the position of Chairman Counselor Assistant of Investitsionno-bankovskaya gruppa NIKoil Joint-Stock Bank Managing Board. In 2003 - 2005, Aleksey was employed by Uralsib Insurance Group. In 2005, he was appointed Deputy Director General of Rossia Open Insurance Joint-Stock Company. In April 2011, he was hired by Energogarant for the position of Deputy Director General for Insurance. In May 2012, Mr. Galakhov came to be Deputy Director General for Corporate Business of Ingosstrakh Insurance Company.

It should be reminded that Russian Nuclear Insurance Pool unites Russian insurers dealing with insurance and reinsurance of risks related to possible environmental radiation pollution. RNIP was founded on November 27, 1997 by twenty Russian insurers under the aegis and with active support of the Ministry for Atomic Energy and Russian Federal Inspectorate for Nuclear and Radiation Safety to become the first full-fledged insurance pool in the history of domestic insurance.
