OREANDA-NEWS. October 10, 2013. In their 14th annual Top-1,000 rankings, Kommersant Publishing House and the Russian Managers Association rank Uniastrum Corporate Secretary Olga Merkulova and Vice President of Marketing Margarita Tarasova among Russia’s best.

Olga Merkulova came fourth among the country’s corporate managers, and Margarita Tarasova placed fifth among marketing directors in the commercial bank category.

Ms. Merkulova joined Uniastrum in 2006, serving as Corporate Secretary since 2008. Her duties include ensuring smooth and effective interaction between the Bank’s management bodies, specifically between the owners, the Board of Directors and senior executives, organizing and running meetings of the BoD, the Management Board and various BoD committees, as well as ensuring that the Bank complies with the highest standards of corporate governance. She is an active member of the Association of Independent Directors and the National Association of Corporate Secretaries, and in 2012 was included in the National Register of Professional Corporate Directors.

Margarita Tarasova has been with Uniastrum for more than eight years and is responsible for implementing the Bank’s marketing strategy, conducting market research and publicity drives, as well as numerous other marketing-related activities. Since coming to Uniastrum, Ms. Tarasova has been tasked with leading the Bank’s rebranding initiatives, creating a new corporate style, revamping the branch network, and implementing a range of major social projects.

Ranking Russia’s top managers is an annual project run by the Association of Russian Managers in conjunction with Kommersant Publishing House. Transparent, rigorously objective, and guided by a policy of “the best choose the best”, the rankings have served as a quality gauge of the country’s managers in numerous sectors for more than ten years.
