In line with the agreement Transaero Airlines will, by the end of 2013, provide the Fund with fifty air tickets for children with brain diseases and carers, from Russian regions and CIS countries to the leading Russian and foreign medical centres, as well as with transportation for medical staff participating in personnel training programmes.
“We are delighted that Transaero became the first partner airline of Konstantin Khanbensky Charity Foundation”, said Transaero CEO Olga Pleshakova. “I am sure that our joint efforts will increase the efficiency of our co-operative fight for saving the lives of children suffering with serious brain diseases. This agreement is another important step for Transaero as we seek to expand our charity activities”.
Konstantin Khabensky and Experts Council members of the Charity Foundation expressed their sincere gratitude to Transaero in regard of its assistance. They highlighted that air transportation services provided for young patients, especially for those from far-off Russian regions, will contribute to significant increase of the programme's efficiency. Since 2008 Transaero has been carrying out the “Back to the Future” social programme, with the main objective being to contribute to children's healthcare. The programme includes transportation to the major clinics in Russia and abroad for children suffering with serious diseases. Due to this project more than 1,400 young patients received the necessary early treatment and more than a thousand children have been through rehabilitation from oncological and hematological diseases.
A special place in the Transaero charity programme is reserved for corporate volunteering, uniting more than 500 of the airline's employees across Russia. Transaero's programme of corporate charity is ranked in the top-3 in Russia. The Reputatsiya ratings agency gave Transaero the highest ranking of corporate social responsibility - AAA.
