OREANDA-NEWS. October 08, 2013. Fu Chengyu, Chairman of Sinopec Group, led the Sinopec delegation to New York on September 19 to 20, for the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit themed as ‘Enterprises are the Architects of A Beautiful World’.

The Summit is the world’s largest and highest-level enterprise conference for sustainable development. With the 2015 deadline for the UN’s Millennium Development Goal closing in , the Summit is going to lay a foundation for enterprises to push forward the global development agenda beyond 2015.

Leaders of thousands of enterprises from over one hundred countries, governments and UN leaders gathered in New York to discuss the role of enterprises as a driving force of economic and social development, and how they can provide support and participate in solving issues of human survival and development priority including climate change, water resource, food and the rights of women.
