OREANDA-NEWS. October 08, 2013. IBA Group conducted a workshop on creation of automated systems of traffic control and payment in public transport. Organized by IBA Group, NXP Semiconductors, Protok Lux, and Minsktrans, the event was held in Minsk, Belarus.

The workshop featured new technologies and products designed to improve the efficiency of public transport companies and the quality of passenger service.

Greeting the participants, Sergei Levteev, IBA Group Chairman, said: “IBA Group serves customers in 40 countries. IBA Group experts are often on business trips to various destinations. On return to Belarus it is easy to see the difference in the level of automation for foreign and local transport, though the professional level of our developers is high. The use of paper tickets is indeed a relic of the past. Even our nearest neighbors use up-to-date systems of travel payment and control. The new system will automate payment in public transport. The transportation companies will be able to offer their customers a variety of payment options and tariff rates when using proximity cards. This means that the quality of our life will change for the better.”

At the event, representatives of NXP Semiconductors (Philips), IBA Minsk, Protok Lux, and Minsktrans delivered presentations on automated systems of payment and traffic control in public transport, answered questions of the audience, and provided individual consultations.

The workshop gathered 65 representatives of 35 transport companies and state governing bodies of Belarus.
