OREANDA-NEWS. BHEL and Indian Railways are jointly setting up a greenfield Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) coach factory at Bhilwara in Rajasthan to cater to the growing demand for more local and suburban trains.

The fundation stone of the factory was laid by Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Hon’ble Chairperson, UPA in the presence of Sh. Mallikarjun Kharge, Hon’ble Union Minister of Railways; Sh. Ashok Gehlot, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan; Sh. B.P. Rao, Chairman & Managing Director, BHEL and other dignitaries.
