OREANDA-NEWS. October 07, 2013. There will be as few foreign workers at the Kazakhstan-China oil pipeline as possible, Tengrinews reports citing Director General of KazTransOil Kairgeldy Kabyldin.

“KazTransOil will maintain all the pipeline’s facilities from Atyrau to Alashankow without involvement of the Chinese partners. We will minimize the presence of the Chinese partners. They will be involved only during designing and constructions period, as well as in the project’s management. After that their presence will be minimized,” Kabyldin said at the meeting of the Senate Work Group on the Draft Law On Ratification of the Agreement between Kazakhstan and Chinese Governments on Cooperation during Development and Exploitation of Kazakhstan-China Oil Pipeline.

According to him, the Kazakhstan-Chinese Oil Pipeline employs 284 people, including 36 Chinese citizens. “These are mainly managers who supervise use of funds, budget and return of the loaned funds, as all loans were obtained under guarantee of the Chinese partners,” he said.

“In MunaiTas we have 80 people, including only 4 Chinese citizens who perform managerial functions,” Kabyldin added.
