Romania Supports EU Integration of Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. October 07, 2013. As the press service of the government informs, this was announced by the minister of economy of Romania, the chairman of the joint intergovernmental commission on trade-economic cooperation between the two countries at the meeting with the prime minister of Moldova Iurie Leanca. Varujan Vosganian noted that Romania will provide Moldova all possible support during the "Eastern Partnership" summit to be held next month.
Iurie Leanca said that the meeting of the intergovernmental commission is a good reason to study the results of bilateral cooperation between both states, opportunities for investments as well as to discuss a number of important projects in energy, transport and agriculture.
The prime minister added that Moldova is interested in Romanian investment and expansion of activities of foreign investors operating at the Romanian market and placement of investments in Moldova. Varujan Vosganian noted that Romania is open for expansion of bilateral economic relations. He also expressed his intention to promote investment opportunities of Moldova in Romania, consolidate private sector and support the Moldovan economy.
According to the government, for 7 months of 2013 the volume of bilateral trade of Moldova and Romania grew by 17 % - up to USD 605 million, while the Moldovan exports increased by 19 % compared to the same period of the last year, and the growth of imports made 16 %, respectively.
