OREANDA-NEWS. October 07, 2013. Vice Prime Minister Olexandr Vilkul, as a co-chairman of Ukraine-Georgia intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation, has held a meeting with Minister of Agriculture of Georgia Shavla Pipia and Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Georgia to Ukraine Mykhaylo Ukleba.

The meeting was dedicated to consideration of the development of bipartite partnership. In particular, it concerns increase of trade turnover between the countries. This year it is planned to up and achieve UAH 1 bln, which is by 10% more against the showing of 2012.

Moreover, the parties discussed development of tourism, aviation communication and cultural cooperation.

“Both Ukraine and Georgia have joint European aspirations. In Vilnius during the Summit Ukraine plans to sign the Association Agreement with the EU, while Georgia – to initial the Association Agreement with the EU,”  Vice Prime Minister Olexandr Vilkul said.

On the outcomes of the meeting the sides expressed readiness to intensify two-way trade and economic cooperation.

As reported earlier, on June 25, in Tbilisi Olexandr Vilkul held a meeting with President of Georgia Mykhaylo Saakashvili and together with Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia Kakha Kaladze held a sitting of Ukrainian-Georgian economic cooperation commission.

the sitting of the Commission resulted in signing the Agreement on cooperation between Ukraine and Georgia in healthcare and Memorandum on activization of relations between the state in investment area.
