OREANDA-NEWS. October 04, 2013. Sviaz-Bank and BelWEB Bank OJSC in Minsk, both members of the Vnesheconombank Group, have launched a joint project for BLIZKO money transfers to be made through BelWEB’s Internet banking system.

Customers of BelWEB Bank, one of the largest banks in Belarus, will now be able to make transfers in U.S. dollars and euros without leaving home, by tapping a few keys on their computers.

BelWEB Bank is the first bank in the Republic of Belarus to adopt the money transfer service using Internet banking on the republic’s territory, and the BLIZKO system is the first payment system to have integrated payment services successfully into the Belarusian bank’s remote banking system.

“Alternative sales channels have been developing successfully in today’s world through mobile phones or self-service terminals. They have obvious advantages of speed and convenience over traditional banking. For the money transfer market in Belarus making money transfers remotely through the BLIZKO system is certainly a new trend,” says Andrei Laikov, head of Sviaz-Bank’s Payment System.
