OREANDA-NEWS. October 03, 2013. Ashgabat, Turkmenistan hosted the VIII international book fair “The book – the way of cooperation and progress” which gathered publishers and writers from 27 world countries.

Ukrainian producers from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv displayed over 400 national editions on the fair.
General editor of the Dnipro publishing Kudryavtsev O.S. met with noted Turkmen writers Atamurad Atabayev, Agaggeldy Allanazarov, Bibi Orazduriyeva whose poems had been translated in Ukrainian in the 60-th of the previous century and printed by the Dnipro publishing house.

The Folio Ukrainian printing together with the Embassy of Ukraine to Turkmenistan handed over to a Turkmen school, where also Ukrainian schoolchildren learn, over 80 books of the School Book series.

On the preliminary agreement the Turkmen state publishing service is preparing to publish in 2014 a book of poems by Taras Shevchenko translated into Turkmen and dedicated to the 200-th anniversary of his birth.

By a decision of the international jury of the VIII international book fair “The book – the way of cooperation and progress”, the Diploma of the first stage “For the best printing performance” was received by the book of Ukrainian publishing house ADEF-Ukraina “The Museum of Volyn Icon”.
