OREANDA-NEWS. October 01, 2013. The International Exhibition “Textile Equipment and Technologies – CAITME 2013” has opened in the pavilions of the Uzexpocenter National Exposition Complex. It is accompanied by the International Exhibition “Textile Industry – Техtile Ехро Uzbekistan 2013”.
The exhibitions are organized by the ITE Uzbekistan International Exhibition Company and ITE Group (United Kingdom) with support fr om the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Uzbekyengilsanoat (Uzbek Light Industry) State Stock Company and the Osiyo Ramzi (Symbol of Asia) Association of Fashion Designers of Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan’s light industry is the most critical diversified and innovations-attractive sector of the national economy. The industry is currently represented by the Uzbekyengilsanoat SSC that integrates 270 textile, garment and knitted goods enterprises outfitted with cutting-edge equipment. The attractiveness of the sector is also epitomized by the fact that during the independence years under the leadership of President Islam Karimov, the industry has drawn in excess of 1 billion 800 million dollars of foreign investments for the implementation of projects in deep reprocessing of the domestic cotton fiber, for the establishment of new production capacities and the modernization of the existing ones. The wide-ranging prospects for investments into the industry were opened by the presidential decree signed 10 April 2012 “On Additional Measures for the Stimulation of Drawing Direct Foreign Investments”.
As the Deputy Chairman of the Uzbekyengilsanoat SSC Sh.Sultanov has noted, the availability of principal crude material, that is, cotton fiber of high quality, the qualified human resources, the advanced infrastructure networks, the capacious regional product markets for textile goods – remain currently as the incentives for investment into Uzbekistan’s textile industry. For boosting the production capacities and the range of products, more than 700 units of machinery for 13.4 million dollars are projected to be procured during the 2012-2014 period for manufacturing garments, yarn and linens.
The 8th International Exhibition “Textile Equipment and Technologies – CAITME 2013” and the 10thInternational Exhibition “Textile Industry – Техtile Ехро Uzbekistan 2013” are expected to make their own input into the implementation of promising projects designed to bolster the country’s light industry.
This time around, their integrated exposition is presented by 250 companies from 22 countries of the world. The exhibitor geography has covered Europe and Asia, including such nations as Austria, Belgium, China, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Oman, Poland and the like. Particularly active are the companies from Uzbekistan, dictated by the constantly growing interest of foreign manufacturers and the desire to be represented by their own agents in our country. It is also conditioned by the healthy competition among leading players of the market.
“Our company has been operating in the mechanical engineering market since last year,” the Director General of the Rieter Uzbekistan M.Razzakov said. “Belt, combing machines and ring spinners are in demand at textile enterprises, and our objective is to supply them with quality equipment at reasonable prices. Thus the produce we are presenting at these international expositions has been attracting the considerable number of specialists. I believe we will be able to strike additional deals.”
Indeed, from the time it was founded, the “Textile Industry – Техtile Ехро Uzbekistan” exhibition has come to be a potent impetus for augmenting business cooperation among specialists in the textile industry, it has attracted leading manufacturers and consumers in the sector and has helped enhance the picture about the light industry in general. In turn, the increased demand and interest in the exposition has led to the necessity to found a separate exhibition of equipment, technologies and materials for the textile and light industry, namely, CAITME. For the period it has existed, the exposition remains the single most extensive project in the sphere with a considerable international array of participants among the Central Asian nations.
This year, the attention of visitors and specialists has been caught by the tremendous range of a diversity of textile equipment, the activities of which can be observed in action. We hope for the further fruitful cooperation.”
Also noteworthy at the forum has been the Belgian Association of Equipment Manufacturers for Textile Industry (SYMATEX) that informs the light industry across the world on new technologies developed in Belgium. Owing to its assistance, 9 Belgian companies are taking part in these wide-scale events. They are displaying efficient technologies that cater to the needs of the Uzbek manufacturing industry with their state-of-the-art innovations in combing and Jacquard technologies, tufting production, finishing equipment, components and accessories for sewing machines, control systems and textile production inspection, automation of textile industry.
The Korean Textile Machinery Institute (KOTMI) is also taking part in this exhibition for the first time, with 5 companies. They demonstrate equipment for the production of hosiery, nonwoven fabric, technical fiber from reprocessed crude materials and many others.

Last year, we took part in this exhibition for the first time and have already found a representative in the local market, with which we have been building up our cooperation. I am convinced that this is hardly a lim it because every one of the sides has their own fresh ideas and exciting proposals for one another.”
As the tradition goes, leaders of the domestic textile business such as BF Textile Production, Osborne Textile and Uztex Group present their export oriented produce of high quality at the “Textile Expo Uzbekistan 2013”.
