BPS-Sberbank Joins EBRD Belarus Sustainable Energy Finance Facility
OREANDA-NEWS. October 01, 2013. BPS-Sberbank and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) have signed a loan agreement for EUR 10 million within the framework of EBRD Belarus Sustainable Energy Finance Facility (BelSEFF). The signing of loan agreement took place in Minsk.
EBRD Belarus Sustainable Energy Finance Facility was introduced in 2012 and is aimed at financing of projects related to increase in energy efficiency of production facilities, introduction of energy saving technologies and renewable energy sources. The facility encompasses not only financing of energy efficiency projects of Belarusian borrowers, but also consultancy services and information support provided to BPS-Sberbank customers by qualified experts with regard to optimum implementation of energy efficiency projects.
Potential borrowers under the Loan agreement between EBRD and BPS-Sberbank will be predominantly private-owned companies, at the same time part of the lending facility may be utilized for financing of projects implemented by public companies which meet the facility criteria.
BPS-Sberbank’s entry into EBRD Belarus Sustainable Energy Finance Facility contributes to further development of the bank’s active cooperation with international financial organizations and foreign lending institutions. BPS-Sberbank and EBRD successfully cooperate under the framework of EBRD Trade Facilitation Programme and MSME Loan agreement for financing of micro-, small and medium-sized companies.
The implementation of BelSEFF agreement with EBRD is estimated to contribute to strengthening of BPS-Sberbank position in the fields of project and trade finance.
The Bank offers a wide range of services in trade finance and documentary business for export and import transactions taking into consideration the optimum structure of each transaction and individual requirements of the bank’s customers.
