OREANDA-NEWS. BTA Bank JSC (the Bank) kindly informs that General Shareholders' Meeting of the Bank has taken the following resolution (Minutes No.68 dated September 26, 2013):

to elect Mr. Kadyrzhan Damitov as a member of the Board of Directors of BTA Bank JSC, representative of Samruk-Kazyna JSC for the term of powers of the Board of Directors of BTA Bank JSC in general.

BTA Bank is a backbone bank of Kazakhstan, the major shareholder of which is the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, represented by “Samruk Kazyna” National Welfare Fund having 97,28 % of shares.

After “Samruk Kazyna” National Welfare Fund entered into authorized capital of BTA Bank JSC, financial and investment strategy of the Bank has been changed.

BTA refocused its business to local market instead of foreign projects lending, laying emphasis on good servicing of corporate and retails customers and investing reliable projects in Kazakhstan. The Bank is an active participant of governmental economic support programs. In 2009 the Bank took part in financing SMEs, companies of agricultural sector, refinancing of mortgage loans and financing of completion of housing estate.
