OREANDA-NEWS. September 26, 2013. Perhaps the most coveted Society of Professional Engineers (SPE) International recognitions, the SPE International Distinguished Corporate Support Award has been granted to Saudi Aramco for 2013.

Since its inception in 2010 by the SPE board of directors, the SPE Corporate Support Award has been a key goal for energy companies worldwide.

Bounded by a competitive pool of more than 30 international oil companies, national oil companies (NOCs) and service companies, the achievement certainly does not hang low for the taking.

The award recipient is based on a blind survey with comprehensive criteria.

“Saudi Aramco raises the bar by being the first NOC to win the SPE International Distinguished Corporate Support Award,” said Amin H. Nasser, senior vice president of Upstream.

“We don’t only ensure that the required energy is being delivered to the world with the highest standards, but we also play a vital role in sharing valuable knowledge through SPE to continue advancing our industry,” he added.

The award will be presented to Saudi Aramco on Oct. 1 at the SPE annual banquet, a featured event at the SPE’s Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE) in New Orleans, Louisiana, in the United States.

Khaled A. Al-Buraik, vice president of Petroleum Engineering and Development, added: “If this award is any indicator of the company’s success, let us not forget what our company is comprised of — our hard working individuals who made this achievement possible. This award is a reflection of our members’ professionalism, long-standing contributions and dedication to our competent core values and the SPE.”

While the SPE International Distinguished Corporate Support Award may be a novel attainment for Saudi Aramco, the company’s personnel are no strangers to the SPE award podiums.

Company professionals have been awarded numerous technical and professional SPE awards on both the regional and international levels throughout the years.
