OREANDA-NEWS. September 26, 2013. President Jia Baojun met with the visiting Chinese Ambassador to Cameroon, Mr. Wo Ruidi at the headquarters of Sinosteel.

President Jia welcomed the Ambassador to Sinosteel, and exchanged ideas with him on the exploration and development, environmental assessment and influencing factors of mining of the Sinosteel’s Cameroon project. President Jia thanked the Ambassador for his care and support for the project, and said, as a centrally administered enterprise, Sinosteel will grasp the opportunities, take advantage of the policies, and continue to stick to the mission of promoting the bilateral trade between China and Cameroon. With the help of the government, Sinosteel will coordinate the use of resources; make good planning of the exploitation of mineral resources and the development of other businesses in Cameroon; promote mutually beneficial and win-win collaboration, make contributions to the bilateral trade and economic cooperation, and support the advancement of the new strategic partnership of China and Africa. 

Ambassador Wo Ruidi showed gratitude for the warm reception of Sinosteel, and he showed interests in the progress of the Cameroon project of Sinosteel. He told Mr. Jia that Cameroon has good location and natural conditions, as well as rich resources, and as a result, exploitation of mineral resources is an important strategic measure of the country’s development of local economy. People are now seeing increased political mutual trust between China and Cameroon, orderly promotion of economic and trade cooperation, and rapid development of the bilateral relationship.

He hoped that Sinosteel will make good use of the chances, deepen collaboration, carry out good project feasibility studies, and promote new progress of both economies during the process of mutually beneficial cooperation. The Chinese Embassy in Cameroon will provide comprehensive support and services to the overseas projects of Sinosteel, further enhancing its role in coordination and safeguarding, and promoting and serving the bilateral trade and economic development.
