Rosoboronexport Presents Army Materiel at Russia Arms Expo 2013
OREANDA-NEWS. Rosoboronexport expects increased interest from foreign delegations in advanced Russian army materiel that will be demonstrated at the RAE 2013 International Exhibition of Arms, Military Equipment and Ammunition to be held in Nizhny Tagil from 25 to 28 September 2013.
“Quite a few new models will be showcased in Nizhny Tagil. We are already offering some of them to foreign partners. Among them are for example the upgraded T-90S tank, improved Msta-S self-propelled howitzer, a lightweight version of the Smerch multiple rocket launcher together with the Orlan-10 UAV, Vena self-propelled artillery system, UNKV-E individual soldier radio/computer system capable of effectively automating communications within a unified tactical command & control system, as well as a number of other assets,” - said Rosoboronexport Deputy Director General Igor Sevastyanov who heads the Company’s delegation at the exhibition.
Foreign delegations are expected to take a keen interest in a unique BMPT tank support combat vehicle, BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle, armored personnel carriers, Ural and Kamaz trucks, two-unit articulated amphibious tracked carriers, engineer equipment, and close assault weapons, including special small arms. Rosoboronexport will also present various options for upgrading equipment supplied previously to foreign customers.
At RAE 2013, Rosoboronexport, part of the Rostec State Corporation, will hold talks with the French Ministry of Defense’s delegation on the activities of the Russian-French Committee for Military-Technical Cooperation and will discuss the implementation of current and future joint projects with French major arms manufacturers Thales, Sagem, Nexter and RENK France.
“In the coming years, demand for Russian army equipment and weapons will be strong. We will continue to work with our traditional partners, with the focus partially shifting to the transfer of technology and the organization of licensed production, - said Igor Sevastyanov. - We will also work closely with major European manufacturers on joint projects in the interests of third countries.
During the exhibition Rosoboronexport will take part in the expert dialog, “The Global Arms Market: the Contours of Fair Competition,” to be held on September 26, 2013 where the arms export control and unfair competition problems will be touched upon. Igor Sevastyanov will act as spokesman for Rosoboronexport.
