OREANDA-NEWS. Krasnodonugol operating under the umbrella of Metinvest Group has committed to invest about UAH 60m in implementation of H&S innovations in 2013-2014.

The systems installed at Sukhodolskoye-Vostochnoye and Samsonovskoye-Zapadnoye collieries will allow to supervise the work of staff and equipment underground in the real time mode.

Sukhodolskoye-Vostochnoye plans to complete installation of a system of comprehensive production safety and air & gas control sub-system. After obtaining all the required permits from the State City Industrial Supervision Agency, the company will put the equipment into operation.

The new equipment and software will provide information about the location of staff and mining equiment in mine tunnels. The key areas of mine tunnels will be equipped with fixed scanners. The information will be sent to the main server monitored by the mine supervisor.

Sukhodolskoye-Vostochnoye colliery has become the first Ukrainian coal company which installed this kind of comprehensive system. The main difference from similar systems includes high-performance methane meters and display of staff and equipment location. Autonomous power system ensures long operation of equipment enough to evacuate miners from underground in case of emergency.

The System of emergency protection of Samsonovskaya-Zapadnaya mine project will be launched in early 2014. It will be applied in all production faces and headings, tunnels equipped with belt-type conveyors and surface and underground stationary facilities. The electronic system will help to operate ventilation equipment, keep energy accounting and ensure air and gas control and fire protection.
