OREANDA-NEWS. September 24, 2013. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar, the calculation of the market value of the gas pipeline networks built within the framework of gasification program of the country at the expense of the state and local budgets will be made on the basis of Assessment Methodology of the gas pipelines in the public domain, approved by the Government at the meeting.

According to approximate estimates, the cost of the gas pipelines, built on the budget funds, is about 1 billion lei. They are at the balance of the local authorities and transferred to "Moldovagaz" for operation. Investments can not be amortized. The Economy Minister stressed the necessity to make an inventory of all state-owned gas pipelines, to make their evaluation by the selected company and to provide "Moldovagaz" capitalization. Valeriu Lazar noted that this investment will help to reduce gas debt to “Gazprom”.

According to him, the objective of this methodology is to establish clear approaches and specific methods for evaluating and calculating the market value of the gas pipeline networks. The development methodology is one of Moldova's commitments to European Union in the field of energy. It is planned that application of this methodology will contribute to proper evaluation and calculation of the market value of the state-owned gas pipeline networks.
