Air Astana Passes Fourth IATA Operational Safety Audit
OREANDA-NEWS. September 24, 2013. Air Astana has once again demonstrated its compliance with global safety standards by successfully passing the International Air Transport Association's Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) for the fourth time. The airline first passed the audit in 2007 and then again in 2009 and 2011. Air Astana remains the only airline from Kazakhstan to maintain repeated audit success.
During the latest audit in May 2013, documentation and implementation of nearly 1,000 IOSA standards were verified on all aspects of the airline’s activities. These included organization and management, flight operations, operational control and flight dispatch, engineering and maintenance, cabin operations, ground handling, cargo operation and security. The audit, undertaken by ICF SH&E, found that Air Astana's Safety Management System was 100% compliant.
"The constant improvement of safety and service quality are critical for every member of our team and the IOSA audit results have again testified it. Safety is Air Astana's core value and we are committed to continuous improvement of our performance through compliance with the air transport industry's highest standards, effective quality assurance and risk management”, said Peter Foster, President of Air Astana.
