OREANDA-NEWS. September 24, 2013. Independent Association of Banks of Ukraine (NABU) under the auspices of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) and supported by the German Development Bank KfW, acting on behalf of the Federal Government, again hold in Ukraine World Savings Day .

The main objective of the World Savings Day is to promote the idea of saving money and attract attention of various government and private companies to join efforts through measures for the population of Ukraine on improving financial literacy.

In October 2013 the participating banks will implement joint favorable terms for deposits from the public. Nice gifts in offices waiting for investors who come to the bank with the kids. Also, in preparation for the "World Savings Day" in September 2013 workers participating banks hold in schools Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, White Church and Vishgorod lessons on financial literacy on" Savings and its own budget."

NABU urges banks to participate in organizing events at the World Savings Day and join more than 20 financial institutions that have supported this initiative.

Also in preparation for the celebration of World Savings Day from 9 September to 24 October 2013 the Association will hold a competition for children "Financial rainbow NABU" on "What are you doing savings?". SIGN receive prizes.

In addition, from September 30 to October 10, 2013 journalists can submit their articles and video stories on financial subjects to participate in the media contest. Winners are expected valuable gift.

World Savings Day is celebrated on October 31. Its history dates back to October 1924 when Milan representatives of savings banks from 29 countries gathered at the first international congress dedicated (anhl.World Society of Savings Banks). October 31, 1924 took place the last day of the congress, which Ravizza Italian professor suggested "to commemorate the first meeting savings banking institutions of all countries" to celebrate this day every year as "International Day of Savings".

In Ukraine in 2012, the first World Savings Day supported 16 Number of commercial banks. Its symbol was the piggy bank as Little Pigs, and its slogan - "Banks join for the future!" And "Saving today - rich tomorrow!".
