New Platforms from NEFAZ
OREANDA-NEWS. Shop 2 of Neftekamsk Automobile Plant, a subsidiary of KAMAZ in Bashkortostan, has equipped a new section for welding and assembly of oval-shaped platforms. It is planned to produce four models of oval-shaped platforms for Dump Trucks 9509, 65201-84, 6520-81, 65115-91.
It was planned to produce 13 assembly and welding stands. The designers were set a task to unify welding and assembly machines in order to save space and reduce costs for tool-making.
Site planning was made by Maryam Egorova, Chief Engineer. Danil Khaibullin, Chief Designer and the winner of a professional skills contest, managed to design a multipurpose and, at the same time, ergonomic construction – a complex convertible stand for welding and assembly of platforms of three models. There is a feature of short changeover of welding machines for different models. And Sergey Balabanov, the twice winner of the design solutions professional competition, who had worked on the stand of Frame 9509, offered a design solution due to which the company managed to save about 55 square meters of production space: one assembly stand can assemble and weld two frame rails and the whole frame.
A stand for welding and assembly of Platform Base 9509 was constructed by Vladimir Babin, a prize-winner of the All-Russian 3D-modeling competition, 3-rd Category Design Engineer. A stand for bases of other platforms and a project of a stand for Side 65115-91 was designed by Elena Uzbekova, 3-rd Category Design Engineer. Other devices were designed with the participation of Rais Khayrullin, Chief Design Engineer – Head of Group, and Liudmila Samarina, 1st Category Design Engineer.
Oval-shaped platforms, unlike bucket ones, feature a number of advantages: a stronger structure due to its rounded shape, improved performance. This saves metal, thereby reducing the overall cost of the dump truck.
Neftekamsk Automobile Plant managed to realize all projects within a short space of time according to the schedule. The site has been constructed, and today’s task for KAMAZ’s subsidiary is to use it effectively.
