OREANDA-NEWS. September 20, 2013. Summit in Vilnius will be a joint success of Ukraine and the European Union. This was announced by Head of EU Delegation to Ukraine Ian Tombinski at a press briefing at the Government House.

"This is a joint success of not only Ukraine, and not the European Union, but it will be a joint success of all citizens of Ukraine and all citizens of the European Union. And it will bring beneficial results for the world economy and in order to Ukraine has modern and more powerful economy on the world market,", - said the representative of the European Union.

"Today, the Government has ended the procedural preparation to approve the project of the Association Agreement. This is a very important and very decisive step of Ukrainian government," Head of EU Delegation to Ukraine said.

He expressed confidence that after such decisions of Ukrainian authorities as today’s decision there will be no obstacles to fulfill political conditions for signing in the Association Agreement in Vilnius. He also added that the procedural process on the side of the European Union is also comes to the end.

"I see no reason for the failure of the Association Agreement with the European Union, especially after today's decision of Ukraine," Ian Tombinski said.

He also added that Ukraine is a large neighbor of the European Union and the European Union is interested in the fact that all the neighbors had a well-developed economy, and business processes improve and joint projects develop.

Commenting on the issue of legislative changes for the signing of the Association Agreement, Ian Tombinski convinced that this process is aimed at greater protection of citizens of Ukraine and improve democratic standards.

Head of EU Delegation to Ukraine also added that the EU is negotiating on creation FTA with the United States and Japan.
