Passenger Flow through Ukrainian Airports Increased by 7% in August
OREANDA-NEWS. September 19, 2013. Passenger flow through Ukrainian airports increased by 7% to about 2 million people in August 2013 compared to the same period last year. This was announced by Vice Prime Minister Olexandr Vilkul.
According to him, Ukrainian airline carriers flied over 1 million passengers last month, 1.6% more than in the same period of the last year.
Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise (UkSATSE) has served in August of 2013 by 9.4% more aircrafts in comparison with the corresponding period of 2012.
"Two new low-cost companies have entered the Ukrainian market of international aviation operations this year. Namely, Spanish Vueling Airlines and Italian Meridiana Fly, Olexandr Vilkul said.
Spanish Vueling Airlines has begun operation in May 2013 and performs three flights a week in the direction Barcelona - Kyiv (Zhulyany) - Barcelona. And Italian Meridiana Fly performs one flight a week from Boryspil (Ukraine) to Olbia (Italy) from June this year.
According to UkSATSE 10 low-cost carriers from 7 countries performed regular routes to Ukraine.
