OREANDA-NEWS. September 19, 2013. Vice Prime Minister of ukraine Yuriy Boyko has made a working trip to Kherson region where he visited Kherson shipyard and took part in a ceremony of handing over a complete tanker to the contactor, the third from a series of built along the RST27 project by the mentioned enterprise.

“I am very pleased to congratulate the whole team of the Kherson shipyard on behalf of the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and Ukrainian Government on this considerable labour victory – a new oil tanker sets off to sail,” Yuriy Boyko said.

He noted Kherson shipyard has a glorious history and expressed assurance in future successful development of the enterprise.

“Kherson ship builders have demonstrated high professionalism and quality of work. For the first time in Ukraine there have been produced a series of complete tankers. And I am convinced that the shipyard will produce new and new modern ships – and it means workplaces, salaries for the employees, image of the country and development of adjacent branches,” the Vice Prime Minister stressed.

Moreover, he assured that on commission of the President Viktor Yanukovych the Government of Ukraine would provide overall support to shipbuilding branch.

“The task of the Government is to support shipbuilding area keeping in mind its strategic significance for the country,” Yuriy Boyko emphasized.

It should be noted that the contract for production of three compete “river-sea” tankers was signed between Kherson shipyard and SVL group of Malta in 2011.

The tanker complies with modern international requirements: in the process of design of the tanker special demands of oil companies had been taken into account and additional environmental restrictions adhered to.
