SGCC Released Testing Information of Wind Power Integration
OREANDA-NEWS. September 19, 2013. In accordance with the relevant requirements of the National Energy Administration (NEA), the National Wind Power Technology and Testing Center held a conference to release the wind power integration testing information in Beijing.
The Center, affiliating to China Electric Power Research Institute (CEPRI), was established by SGCC in 2009 with the approval of NEA. It is the first time for the Center to release such comprehensive information on wind power testing.
In the conference, the Center released the wind power testing results, information and data research in the last three years and introduced its construction, ability improvement and achievements on standardizing SGCC’s testing management from five aspects: equipment, scientific research, personnel, standards and international cooperation. Deputy Director Shi Lishan, in his concluding speech, fully affirmed the company's work on wind power integration testing and put forward further requirements on the technological advances to better support the wind power industry.
SGCC attaches great importance to wind power integration testing and implements the country’s deployment and related requirements earnestly. Since 2009, the company has invested 350 million in the testing center’s construction and 180 million yuan in the testing technology research to enhance the testing capability with technology innovation. In the short three years, the Center has reached the world’s leading level.
Meanwhile, the company has strengthened the system construction, improved the wind power integration testing mechanism, standardized the testing management with formulating and improving the technical standards and organized the synchronous operation of the Center and sub-centers to accelerate the testing schedule. Currently, the Center and its sub-centers have completed the low voltage ride-through test for 217 models of wind turbines from 43 manufacturers, which means all domestic installed wind turbines of massive production have been tested. Random check on low voltage ride-through capability of 151 wind farms has been finished and by the end of this year, all farms in the company’s area will be tested.
Since the comprehensive testing on wind farms, the performance of integrated equipment has improved steadily with enhanced overall operation, strongly supporting the safe operation of the power system. The conference is a useful attempt to establish an open and transparent testing information releasing mechanism and a wind power technology exchange platform to share the research results in the industry and is of great significance in promoting wind power technology.
Next, SGCC will strengthen the wind power testing management, further optimize the testing process of the Center and sub-centers to enhance the efficiency, testing level and service quality, standardize the testing fees and cooperate with other wind power companies to improve its work.
