OREANDA-NEWS. On September 12, 2013 the Lithuanian electricity transmission system operator Litgrid and Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) have signed a 10-year-maturity EUR 22 million loan agreement.

The loan aims to finance Litgrid's investment for the reconstruction of the national electricity transmission network and projects aimed to prepare the integration of the power system into the network of Europe enabled by the power links to Sweden (NordBalt) and Poland (LitPol Link). The loan will be funded to finance part of the company's investment projects with the estimated value of EUR 478 million in 2013-2017.

NIB is an international financial institution owned by eight member countries including Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden.
