OREANDA-NEWS. September 18, 2013. The First Vice Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov has called on entrepreneurs who have problems with doing business in Ukraine to contact an anti-raider commission. He said this at a first sitting of the interdepartmental commission on the protection of investors, combating the illegal takeover and acquisition of enterprises.

"In the case of confirmation of illegal takeover attempts, I guarantee provision of the necessary assistance," Serhiy Arbuzov said.

According to him, during its work the anti-raider commission has already processed 70 applications with damages estimated totaling about UAH 1 billion.

"Today, we hold the first in a new broad composition the interdepartmental commission. No need to explain that it is a matter of national importance. On the agenda is the standoff of the state to this phenomenon that threatens the economy and the implementation of government reforms," the first vice premier said.

Because the success of the presidential reforms depends on the investment climate in Ukraine, the Government is obliged to ensure the protection to investors of their rights, inviolability of business assets and favorable conditions for business development, Mr. Arbuzov said. "And these guarantees expect each of us principled stance on combating economic crimes," he added.

Serhiy Arbuzov also noted that thousands of corporate conflicts with the raider schemes had occurred in recent years in Ukraine. "The getting control under business assets are managed through such schemes as by selling new shares, obtaining wrongful judicial decisions, holding dubious general meeting, etc.," he said.

According to the first vice Prime Minister, today, raiders are increasingly using corrupt ties. "The President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych has repeatedly emphasized the inadmissibility of the phenomenon of corruption in the executive authorities, law enforcement agencies and the judiciary. No case should remain without response. It is for this purpose the Government has initiated the establishment of this commission," Serhiy Arbuzov said.

However, he told that from the resumption of its work, the Commission had already processed complaints and affect problems that are important to investors and Ukraine as a whole. So, in working order, it had already managed to help the Philip Morris, providing the registration of property rights in Ukraine.

Mr. Arbuzov added that the Commission also managed to suspend the expropriation of a number of other investors - both foreign and Ukrainian.
