Peasants Increased Agricultural Production by 6% in Ukraine
OREANDA-NEWS. September 17, 2013. Peasants have increased agricultural production by 6% compared to the same period of last year for 8 months of 2013. Among the reasons for the growth of production is the increasing of the effectiveness of state support.
Tangible results have given direction of efforts of the Ministry of Agrarian policy on the support of cooperatives and individual farmers, which engaged in dairy and beef cattle. This was started by the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov.
"As a result of 8 months the growth occurred by 23% at agricultural enterprises and by 6% in households. Increasing agricultural production by farmers is a result of the effectiveness of state support programs. The country has already established system of subsidies, and such payment should be speed up by local authorities. Also, I commend to monitor procurement prices of milk in the population, because for some rural families it is the only source of income," Serhiy Arbuzov said.
According to the First Vice Prime Minister, as of today there are all prerequisites to further increase agricultural production in individual farms. So, if villagers unite in cooperatives, the results of their work will increase significantly.
"Agricultural products, produced in cooperatives are more competitive because of it high quality, there are good ways to market and more. Therefore, the Government, on performing the task of the President of Ukraine, actively promotes the creation of such associations. And responsible Ministry of Agriculture and Food has developed a Native village program that is being implemented in all regions," Serhiy Arbuzov stressed.
