OREANDA-NEWS. September 17, 2013. Professor Dr J. Bradford DeLong, University of California, Berkeley, will give a lecture sponsored by VTB Bank at Moscow’s Institute of Foreign Relations (MGIMO).

Dr DeLong, a prominent US economist and the chair of the Political Economy of Industrial Societies Department at the University of California, Berkeley, is an international economics and finance expert. He has years of experience speaking as a guest lecturer, discussing problems related to issues such as inflation and trade policy.

Dr DeLong worked as the deputy assistant secretary for economic policy at the US Department of Treasury during former President Bill Clinton’s administration and serves as a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research in Cambridge, MA.

This lecture is the third event in a series organised by VTB aimed at inviting leading international economists to deliver lectures at Russian universities. Last spring, VTB invited two Nobel Prize winners in economics, Robert Aumann and Dale Mortensen, to speak at St Petersburg State University’s Higher School of Management and MGIMO.

New York University Economics Professor Thomas Sargent is also scheduled to speak at St Petersburg State University in September.
