OREANDA-NEWS. Today, on the 10th of September, in the presence of Sergey Kogogin, Director General of OJSC KAMAZ, documents were signed to lease the first two batches of KAMAZ-5490 vehicles.

One of the largest transport enterprises of Russia – PJSC AVTOVAZTRANS – plans to obtain ten KAMAZ-5490 long-haul tractors. The second company which leases five new KAMAZ-5490 vehicles is OOO KamazAvtoMarket, an official dealer of KAMAZ in Chelyabinsk.

“We have been thinly represented in the segment of long-haul tractors until recently, and it was decided to introduce a high-quality product meeting customers’ requirements,” Sergey Kogogin, Director General of OPJSC KAMAZ said. “Production of the KAMAZ-5490 will help us gain ground on the market and increase our share in the segment of long-haul tractors.”

For the first time the KAMAZ-5490 bolster-type tractor was presented two years ago at the COMTRANS-2011 international exhibition, and it is planned that the plant will produce more than one hundred new vehicles this year.

“This is the first batch of KAMAZ-5490 vehicles which we offer for leasing. Taking into account the fact that the serial production of this model is on the initial stage, and the new conveyor is being tested, the signed documents testify a high demand for KAMAZ-5490 and confidence in our company’s potential,” Oleg Ershov, Director General of OAO Leasing Company KAMAZ, said. “I’m sure that the leased KAMAZ vehicles won’t disappoint our clients, the first customers of our new long-haul tractors.”

KAMAZ invested six billion roubles in this project. The vehicle will be equipped with a Mercedes-Benz engine, a ZF gearbox, an Axor, Daimler axles. One of competitive advantages of the vehicle will be its price – less than 3 million roubles, which is lower than prices of the main rivals in Russia by 15-20%.
