OREANDA-NEWS. September 16, 2013. Cooperation with Royal Dutch Shell will afford with time to significantly increase the volumes of domestic extraction of hydrocarbon which together with other measures has to ensure energy independence of Ukraine. Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov announced in the Hague (the Kingdom of Netherlands).

“Certainly, all these difficulties should not be underestimated, those existing in the process of development of shale deposits. There is not simple work in front, but we and the Royal Dutch Shell company are convinced that we are on the right path and the Agreement corresponds to our national interests, so it will solve the problem of providing Ukraine with the domestic gas at last. It is very significant,” Mykola Azarov told.

The Prime Minister reminded that from 2015 already the Royal Dutch Shell company would start extraction of considerable amounts of gas on the territory of Ukraine.
