North Caucasus Railways Invests 21 mn Roubles in Saving Electricity
OREANDA-NEWS. September 16, 2013. Since the beginning of 2013, North Caucasus Railways (NCR) has invested about 21 million roubles in its programme to save electricity.
Twenty top-loaded lighting systems have been installed at stations in the Rostov, Krasnodar and Mineralnye Vody regions.
On the lines and parks at Novorossiysk station it is planned to install LED lighting on rigid cross sleepers. A contract is currently being concluded with a contractor.
Implementing the programme to save electricity in 2013 will enable North Caucasus Railways to upgrade the lighting systems, reduce the amount of power used in lighting stations and cut operating costs required to service and maintain appliances, said NCR's corporate communications service.
