KL International Airport Maintains Position in Smart Travel Asia Poll
OREANDA-NEWS. KL International Airport (KLIA) continues to be one of the traveller’s favourite airports when the airport maintained its third spot in the Top 10 Airports Worldwide category of the Smart Travel Asia 2013 Best in Travel Poll. KLIA shared the third spot with the more popular airport, the Incheon International Airport, Korea.
Y.Bhg. Dato’ Azmi Murad, Senior General Manager of Operations Services, Malaysia Airports said, “Malaysia Airports is indeed pleased to be recognized as one of the favourite hubs in the world. Malaysia Airports places great emphasis on continuously enhancing customer experience at all our airports, particularly KLIA through improving our service and facilities standard.
We strongly believe the emergence of klia2 next year as the world’s first purpose-built terminal dedicated for low cost airlines will significantly improve the service quality to passengers and further strengthen KLIA’s status as one of the best airports worldwide. Sharing third sport with Incheon Airport of Korea showed that KLIA, which is already 15 years old, is still able to compete with the newer and more modern airports.”
Dato’ Azmi added, “What makes the award more meaningful to us is approximately 70 percent of the respondents were based in Asia (largely Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, India, China, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, and the Middle East) which indicates KLIA’s strong presence in this sector.”
