OREANDA-NEWS. President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov and President of China Xi Jinping visited Samarkand on 10 September 2013.

The leaders of two nations visited Mirzo Ulugbek observatory and the Chinese leader familiarized with life and scientific heritage of Mirzo Ulugek.

Presidents of Uzbekistan and China visited Amir Temur mausoleum and Registan square, UzA reported.

The Chinese leader with great interest familiarized with Registan square and exhibition of works of local craftsmen. Xi Jinping said that he was impressed with historic monuments of Samarkand.

He said that he is happy that he had chance to visit Samarkand, which is one of the centers of global civilization. He said that he was witness that Uzbekistan carries out large-scale work on development of the country and preservation of monuments under the supervision of the Uzbek leader.

President of China Xi Jinping wrapped up his visit to Uzbekistan. He noted that his visit to Uzbekistan was fruitful and expressed gratitude to his Uzbek counterpart Islam Karimov for frank and warm reception.
