OREANDA-NEWS. September 13, 2013. At the Kenya-China Investment and Business Forum, which was recently held in Beijing, it was revealed that the China-Africa Development (CAD) Fund has become the largest Chinese equity investment fund that focuses on economic and trade cooperation with Africa.

The fund is now the main platform through which Chinese enterprises invest in Africa. To date, the CAD Fund has invested in over 60 projects that span across more than 30 African countries.

Over USD 2.4 billion has been invested in various sectors, including energy & minerals, machinery manufacturing, building materials, trade parks, power, infrastructure and agriculture. It is projected that these investments will drive Chinese enterprises to invest more than USD 10 billion in Africa.
