Moldova Will Do All Possible for Resumption of Wine Export to RF
OREANDA-NEWS. September 13, 2013. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Moldova during the meeting of the cabinet. He noted that on Wednesday morning during a working meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Economy and MFAEI they discussed situation concerning Russian ban on the wine export supplies from Moldova.
The corresponding decision of Rospotrebnadzor was called groundless and unfounded. Iurie Leanca reminded that such decisions were taken by Russia in the past, but after some period export of Moldovan wines and brandy to Russia was resumed. He also said that after the first embargo Moldova had improved the quality of wine and diversified sale markets. The Prime Minister noted that to date the Government is analyzing the arguments of Rospotrebnadzor. According to him, if the problem is only in wine quality, the Moldovan side will do all its best to resolve it. "But we need to know if it is a real problem.
We will do all possible to improve the wine quality and its verification system ", - said Iurie Leanca. He stressed that there are no such problems in relations between Moldova and European partners. The Prime Minister instructed the state agencies responsible for checking the quality of wine production, as well as MFAEI to start active dialogue with the responsible persons of Russian Federation and provide the conditions for continuation of wine exports to the Russian market.
Iurie Leanca stressed necessity to find ways to ensure that the requirements for quality and safety of Moldovan wines and the system of wine supplies to Russia correspond to the provisions and standards of free trade zone agreement within CIS, based on WTO provisions.
