OREANDA-NEWS. September 13, 2013. Deutsche Post, the world’s leading postal and logistics company, concentrates in particular on education and culture at its home base in Germany. In 2013, one of the focal points of these activities will once again be the Beethovenfest Bonn.

Acting as a main sponsor, Deutsche Post has stood by the side of the Beethovenfest’s organizers for 10 years now. The company has also pledged to provide further financial support to the festive for the next two years.

The Group’s support of the festival also extends well beyond funding. Working hand in hand with residents of Bonn and the surrounding region, the company is committed to promoting classical music and its wide range of acoustic pleasures. During a free side program held in the Post Tower Lounge, Bonn residents will be able once again to attend 26 various events organized under the Beethovenfest motto of “Metamorphoses.”

“In our ever more complex world, we concentrate on continuity while continuously undergoing a process of ‘metamorphosis’ created by innovations,” said Christof Ehrhart, Head of Corporate Communications and Corporate Responsibility at Deutsche Post DHL. “Both of these elements are reflected in our support of the Beethovenfest: in our continuity as a main sponsor and in the innovative side program in the Post Tower Lounge. The Beethovenfest is a cultural highlight on the calendar of events in Bonn and is well known far beyond the local region. We are proud to be a part of this festival.”

Experimental and innovative special performances

The program in the Post Tower Lounge (September 8 – October 5, 2013) will range from jazz, chamber music, chansons, film and video to international performances by members of the Ural Philharmonic Orchestra and members of the Montepulciano Festival. These events will be complemented by experimental and innovative special performances, including “triangulation” (September 9) and “The Magic Flute” for children (September 16). In a reflection of the company’s commitment to young artists, the program will include the “Young Persons’ Stage” once again. Because seating in the lounge is limited, you should reserve tickets: either by telephone at +49-228-502010 or online at www.bonnticket.de

In addition to these cultural activities in the Post Tower Lounge, Deutsche Post DHL will also host the open-air event “Clear the Stage for Beethoven” in cooperation with the Beethovenfest Bonn, the organization “Burger fur Beethoven,” the Musikschule Bonn and the musical initiative Ludwig van B. On September 28, 2013, young musicians from Bonn schools will perform on various stages in the downtown areas of Bonn and Bad Godesberg. On September 29, 2013, music lovers will be able to watch a live performance of Ludwig van Beethoven’s opera “Fidelio” performed at the Beethovenhalle on a big screen set up at Bonn’s market square thanks to the support of Deutsche Post DHL.
