Ukraine Can Encourage Employers to Hire Women Who Stop Chidlcare Leave
OREANDA-NEWS. September 12, 2013. Ministry of Social Policy has suggested a new package of iniatives directed to support of mothers with small children. Minister of Social Policy Nataliya Korolevska announced during a roundtable.
“We have a proposition to give a subsidy to the employers for recruitment of women who terminate their maternity leave and cannot find the job. It is a mechanism called to increase employment of mothers,” Nataliya Korolevska explained.
Besides, the package of initiatives includes a proposition to provide mothers with a voucher for free education, retraining or raising of qualification during a three-year’s childcare leave.
Moreover, the abovementioned document contains support of employers who provide mothers with small children with a distant work. Apart from that, the initiative on protection of mothers with small children lays in a mechanism of encouraging employers – reduction of a single social tax per person working distantly.
“Issues of gender equality are included into a separate section of the draft Concept of Social Policy of Ukraine through 2023 being discussed in the scientific-expert circles. This document has to become “a roadmap” in the issue of securing equal rights for women and men in the long term,” Nataliya Korolevska said.
